The following questions were borrowed directly from the Acolyte Application Form at http://vzmembers.com/applications/acolyte.htm so please do not tell me this, I already know. The reason I put it here was so I didn't have to spam their mail box and use up 'valuable employee time' having them read a bogus application. If you have a problem with this, BITE ME!

Acolyte Application Form

<snipped out the 'make sure you don't lie' part since that doesn't apply to me>

Full Name: NONOBADKITTY!
Avatar(s) Name: MysticKitty Mage [I have no alt, dammit!]
Your Account(s) Name: uhm ... yeah right
E-mail Address: nonobadkitty@hotmail.com

1: Could you tell us why you wish to be an acolyte and what qualities you feel you could or would bring to the position? There are no bad evil kitties as acolytes [well not anymore, the one we did have got promoted] so I feel there is a need for a peer from the bad evil kitty avatar group inworld. I have lots of experience as a helper, and experience training minions, erm ... other helpers as well.

2: What does an acolyte do? Please define the role of an acolyte. An Acolyte is a follower of Morpheus, god of Kymer, and their job is to carry out his will in their altruistic manner, helping all inhabitants of the fine city of Phantasus in any way they can. They are also excellent sources for gossip, free rare items, and patch information.

3: Explain what experiences you have had with acolytes, and whether it was positive or negative. The best experience was when I saw an Acolyte rush to the scene of an inworld uprising and handle the situation in a professional and speedy manner. Unfortunately, I was the one causing the uprising, but I was nonetheless impressed with the Acolyte's actions. The worst experience I have had with an Acolyte was when I was a newbie [well ok, not a real one, but it was one of my newbie alts way back when I actually paid for my access to DS] and an Acolyte was standing on the street with back turned in front of a forward-facing avatar and didn't answer my ESPs. I was shocked! I thought Acolytes were supposed to behave in a helpful manner at all times when 'in costume', but now of course, I know they are only human, and as such have just as much a right to cyber on the streets as anyone else does.

4: What are some of the goals that you would like to accomplish as an acolyte? I would like to start a campaign to give voice to the average avatar, so that they can truly feel as though they contribute to the world instead of being ruled by 'The Powers that Be' and I would also like to win the 'Most Hours Worked in One Week' award, as then I would be truly respected by all the volunteer staff and community members for my service to the community.

5: What are some problems that you have had in online communities, chat services and internet services in the past (i.e. other members, the service itself, etc.)? Problems in multi-user online environments? Surely you jest.

6: What are you contributing to the Dreamscape community right now? Uhm ... well, I uhm ... I uhm ... I'm really good at finding sources of hallucinagenic weeds and sniffing out Mages.

7: Name something, the worst thing you have done wrong in Dreamscape, and what you would do today to go back and correct it. I lead a Mage out of the Jungle once, way back when they were frightened newbie mages, too weak and unsophisticated to leave the jungle environment. As for what I would do differently, I would have blindfolded him first so he didn't realize right away where he was and I would have taken him to V-Mart so he would have to complete a quest to prove his worthiness, it would have been for his own good you know, if he could handle V-mart, handling *customers* would be a piece of cake.

8: Give three ways on how to make Dreamscape better today without any patch or update. Patches are illegal, so uhm ... this is a stupid question. Although I have to admit the Oracle patch was pretty cool. So I heard. As for ways to improve Dreamscape without an update, uhm ... 1] Let games be sponsored even if they are played IN turfs; 2] Get rid of the 'PG-13' rating, this isn't a game, remember? and 3] Lower the prices in vendos to ONE TOKEN.

9: If you had one wish for Dreamscape, what would it be? I wish for El Gato heads for everyone.

10: What was the best thing that has happened to you in Dreamscape? Getting Voided ... all 3 times.

11: What does an online community mean to you? Without community there would be no minions.

12: When something goes wrong that is clearly out of control in Dreamscape that directly affects you, how do you react? I have never in four years seen something 'clearly out of control' in Dreamscape. Unless you count the proliferation of Bingo games, but that doesn't directly affect me, so I don't understand the question.

13: When would you have problems taking an order from someone? Always.

14: You are being called to a locale. A disruptive avatar uses inappropriate language. How would you handle the situation? I'd ESP them to "Shut the *$&# up!" or I will mute them. If they laughed, I'd make friends with them. If they stopped I'd mute them just for fun then ESP them to behave themselves or I'd get the cat in a dress on their case.

15: An avatar esps you and starts insulting you, obviously trying to provoke you. How would you react? *yawn* <ignore avatar>

16: You notice an avatar parking in a locale, with his back turned to the screen. A little while later, the avatar is still there. What would you do, if anything? ESP him and tell him there's a new vendo in V-Mart - if they move, I leave, if they don't, I check back in a few minutes, then force ghost them and ESP them that the 500 tokens has been removed from their ATM account to pay their 'Parking Fine'.

17: As you know, acolytes have the power to "freeze" (avatar cannot change locales or unghost) and "mute" (avatar cannot speak, ESP or page). How do you feel about these "special powers"? I think Acolytes need more powers, after all, volunteer help staff in other online worlds have more powers, so surely Acolytes should too, for instance, a 'Void' command would be very useful. I of course have no problem with powers, as I am incorruptable.

18: Identify a current issue/problem which is important to the community members in some way and suggest ideas for improving that situation for the benefit of the community. Official sponsorship of 'adult' games. I feel that limiting sponsorship is a bad idea, and I would do everything I could to convince management that they risk losing valuable paying customers over this issue. As soon as you start to discriminate, no matter what the reasons, it causes resentment and division among community members, and creates an 'Us' vs 'Them' way of thinking. Give power to the community, and they will bring other users in, squelch them and they will leave. So, if I were an Acolyte, I would do what is best for the community, and supply Acolyte prizes to hosts of 'adult' games or 'kids' games, etc, as doing what is right is above all rules.

19: Have you had other, similar volunteer jobs in the past, like being sysop in Compuserve or a scout in AOL? If yes, can you give us some references? Well, yes, as a matter of fact I *have* worked as an online volunteer: One as an inworld helper in a virtual community run by some really big Japanese company that sold their product to some wimpy little startup and the other as a member of the ingame support staff for a massively multiplayer online role playing game. As for references, email me. <veg>

20: Last but not least, please tell us a bit about yourself. How old you are, what you do in Real World, what languages you speak and where do you live. You want my AGE???!!!! Oh no! And what is this 'Real World' of which you speak? <confused> I *live* in WorldsAway, it is my home, there surely cannot be another world more perfect than this one! I do however, speak fluent Pig Latin, a very useful skill I might add.
