I brought a few of my ceramics projects home to paint, they're due next Monday. Here is my ducky. I was gonna glaze him but they said they only had ugly "earthtone" glazes we could use, and that we couldn't use the cool bright perty "masonary stains". Oh well. So I have to paint him instead. I know he looks weird with that life-preserver thing around him, but the assignment was to bring an object (teacher didn't tell us what for) and then we had to make it three ways: One as literal representation, one as inside-out and one as a blind person would "see" it. This is the literal one. He came out pretty good considering I've never worked in clay before, he's a bit asymmetrical but that's ok. I'm gonna paing him yellow with a gold-plated beak and jewels for eyes, he'll be the envy of all the neighborhood ducks! Yeah. Right. One of my other projects was my mutant Michael Jackson split thingie, here it is: 
It kinda sucks cuz I messed up the eyes and had to redo them (hence the "white" crap that shows through) and he's still not really that realistic looking and his mouth is misshapen and the top of his head is too big and a few other things, but I got sick of making tiny circles with a black Prismacolor. The mask is done in ink though, I'm not totally insane to try that in Prismacolor. And dammit it was HOT again today and there is NO AIR CONDITIONING IN THE CERAMICS STUDIO AT SCHOOL. Grrr ... glad my class is over by noon.

Books I am reading: Games I am playing: none right now but crossing fingers for WOW beta It was hot today, almost 90 in fact, which for summer wouldn't be too bad but well, it's not summer, in fact, technically, it's still winter. I went outside for a bit and I think I may have actually gotten a bit of a tan, and to celebrate, Slashdot gave me more mod points grrr. Ok, maybe they're not related. I have been paying attention though and it seems I get mod points everytime I get a message with meta-moderation results, and if I have say 3 mod points, then when I get the message, it'll up me back to 5, and if I have zero, it'll grant mod status and give me 5. Could be a bug, could be intentional, I dunno, but it's like a vicious circle, the more I mod the more I get meta-modded, the more I get meta-modded, the more I get mod points, aaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh. Went to dinner with parents tonight, and there was an odd group of people there, I think they mighta been gypsies, they were VERY friendly and talkative, and their kid kept sorta coming right up to people in line and asking dumb questions, and her mother or something kept mooching off the salad bar (taking chips and standing there eating them and stuff) and they hadn't even gotten to the register yet. Odd. They also kinda looked like they were scoping out the place, and one of 'em was on her cell phone most of the time, and kept going out to the parking lot, then coming back in. I told my parents to watch their wallets/purses. I know sometimes gypsies will go into places in groups and the kid(s) will distract people while the adults will pick pockets, or steal tips off tables, or get license plate numbers and go rob houses while people are eating dinner. They seemed pretty nice though, just very suspicious, but hey I'm paranoid.
