Books I am reading: Beacham's Sourcebooks for Teaching Young Adult Fiction: Exploring Harry Potter E. Schafer Games I am playing: The Sims Superstar [PC] Asheron's Call [online RPG] Puzzle Pirates [online game] Oh no, it's like Groundhog Day! It keeps happening, again and again and again! I got mod points at Slashdot.org AGAIN! It was only one week ago that I had them! And I dutifully used them up right away ... to get rid of them ... but they're BACK! AAAAAaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!! I must either be on very good terms with the God of Randomness or else they figure that I must love to moderate! Or maybe my karma is so insanely high that I sit at the top of the mod list! Who knows, but I hope it ends soon, or else they better start paying me to mod since it's practically become a job. In other news, my cat is 10 months old ... well yesterday, actually. I did take her picture but she doesn't look much different from the last 3 times she's had a "month" birthday so I haven't uploaded them. Plus I've been very busy earning a reputation on the high seas as the best bilger ever! Arrrr harrr, pass me some rum, matey! Erm, I found this dopey but cute little game called Puzzle Pirates and it's oddly addictive. You play puzzles similar to Bejeweled or Tetris and get paid pieces of eight for your "work" that you can use to buy overpriced pirate hats and what not. There's also an element of "pillaging" and sea battles, but I've not yet braved that yet, so I've just been sailing around bilging the water outta ships while earning a pittance to buy rum and cute stripey shirts. I also re-activated my old Asheron's Call account outta boredom (and the promise of new stuff like tinkering and fishing and easier exp. gain) and my old gimpy characters were still there, so I've been playing a bit. One of my l33+ friends buffed me up so I could kill big monsters and gain a level, so now I am a whopping level 23. Woot! I remember when level 23 was considered "high level" now anything less than level 40 is considered "low level". Of course, everyone but me uses Decal (a plugin thingie that lets you macro and other stuff) so that's why everyone but me is not "low level". But I earn my levels the hard way! And I know where the drudges go potty, so there! The newbie dungeons are nice now though, my newbie was level 5 when she emerged from it, and got up to level 9 in no time just killing drudges and wasps and a few carenzi and chickens on Mara Lassal or whatever it's called, although the level 7 buffs on her armor and weapon from a level 122 stranger helped a bit. I still have no job though, but I figure school starts in a month anyway so if I don't get one by next week I'll just not bother tryin', not worth the hassle of working only for a week or two, I'll have financial aid money coming in again soon and I don't absolutely need job money, it'll just make it easier cuz I'll have some savings for when FA runs out next year. So I might have to work part-time while in school my second year or else take out loans or something. We'll see when we get there, I've worked while in school before it won't kill me to do it again one semester a year if I have to. Anyway, that's my update for now ... oh! I checked and school got my transcripts from my transfer school and I asked the FA office if my fees were deferred until August and they said yes, so they better not cancel my schedule (cuz my fees were due last Friday). If they do, I'll tell 'em Valerie told me everything was ok waaah waaah. Hehee. So now I just gotta wait till next week for textbooks to come out, and if I'm bored I might buy the ones I need, or I might just wait to make sure my classes don't get cancelled, since the Gov. raised fees 40% and the universities said they might cut classes (although the one I go to insists they will NOT fire teachers or cut classes, students first, but we shall see.) It would be nice to get a head-start on school though since I have so much free time right now.
