Thursday, May 15, 2003 Today I am feeling: moonicious
Lunar eclipse tonight, I tried to take pix with my lame digital camera but it won't do time exposures, so I only got pix of it as it was coming outta eclipse, it was too dim before then. Eclipse was kinda disappointing though, no bloody red moon here, it was just sorta a dim bluish-grey color during totality. And being in Los Angeles, I didn't even get to see it go into eclipse cuz the moon wasn't up yet. Waaaah. Oh well, there's another chance later this year in November.

Wednesday, May 14, 2003 Today I am feeling: trollicious
Books I am reading: none Games I am playing (when I have time which is hardly ever): none I got the last of the trolls I bid on on ebay today, yay! Now I have a whole family!
Now my cat will have TWO of her very own trolls.. She seems to like the grim reaper one the best though. School is almost over, this is the last week of class, and next week is finals, but since I am so brain-o-rific I don't have to take two of my finals. Gee, yannow, I remember the olden days when people had to take final exams, because they were cumulative tests. Not any more, usually (except in my Astronomy class, it's a cumulative essay exam.) I don't have to take my Art History final because the teacher drops your lowest score, but if you did well enough on your first two tests and you did ok on the paper, you don't need the final. I got an A on my (crappy) paper and an A on one test and a B on the other, but it was enough to still get an A in the class, so I don't need to take that final. I also don't have to take the test for my astronomy lab because it's only for losers who didn't do all the assignments or who were sick or something. As long as you show up and do all the projects fairly well, you'll get at least a B in the class and I should get an A cuz I have almost perfect attendance and did well on my mercury plotting project thing, and I think I did ok on my other projects. I'll email the teacher later this week just to make sure though, and if my score is too low I'll take the final which is easy. But the teacher said if you're borderline he just bumps ya up cuz he doesn't wanna grade more tests than absolutely necessary. All my art activity classes don't have real finals, only final projects, which are due this week, so all I gotta do is show up for one critique for my painting class next week. So, the only real test I need to take is astronomy and it's in a week, so I have plenty of time to refresh my memory on the essay material and since essays are easy for me, it should be an easy A. I won't get an A in my painting class though unless the teacher is just messin' with our heads by not giving anyone A's on class/homework assignments. I checked the syllabus and she does say 'effort' counts for 20% of your grade, so maybe there is yet hope. As for future plans, I am still in limbo cuz school A still hasn't sent me an admission letter, but their phone system does say I've been accepted ... provisionally. Grrr ... so I gotta wait for the letter to find out what the provisions are, which are probably "you must take all those art lower division classes or we won't let you into our L33+ program". But since transcripts for this semester don't even go out until July, the school won't be able to make a final decision until mid-July at the earliest which means I won't be able to register until the end of July at the earliest, assuming I attend the orientation then. I had planned to do orientation in June but since there's a block on my registering, there's no point in that. I'm glad I didn't send in my $50 reg. fee for orientation yet though. So, I might just say screw it to school A and go to school B instead, it's a better program anyway (well better as in closer to what I wanna do, not in the quality of it.) School A has a really good rep art wise for a "state" school and it's really close to where I live, and has a nice pretty campus, but parking is horrendous and the program isn't quite what I want. And I can always visit and pretend hehe. So, despite not getting "happy vibes" from school B, I may go there anyway. I have 3 more weeks to decide, so if I don't hear from school A by then or verify exactly what the provisions are of my acceptance, then I'll go to school B and root for Tuffy, even if I hate the orange shirt he wears.
