Thursday, May 01, 2003 Today I am feeling: stupid
Books I am reading: Magick, Mayhem and Mavericks - The Spirited History of Physical Chemistry Cathy Cobb Games I am playing (when I have time which is hardly ever): Oracle of Ages [Gameboy Color] Lord of the Rings, Two Towers [Gameboy Advance] I did something dumb. I had checked out a stack of books for that research paper I had to write a few weeks ago, and, since I had some time Saturday and since most of the books were due the following Monday, I figured I'd make a quick trip to the library to return them, so I did. Then yesterday, I get a notice from the college saying 2 books are overdue. Uhm ... oops ... I returned them to the wrong library. You see, I very rarely EVER check stuff out from the school library but I practically live at the local city library. Anyway, I ended up having to go to the city library and explain what happened, which was kinda embarrassing since they know me. (They even let me take books from their booksale sometimes for free cuz they know I'll donate 'em back when I'm done with them.) Fortunately, they still had the books, so I sheepishly took them and returned them to the correct library who didn't charge me overdue fines cuz I'd called them earlier and explained my stupidity so they wiped the fines off. So, all in all, it turned out fine, but yannow I'd had those books in separate piles for about 2 weeks but I did some furniture re-arranging and organizing during spring break and they all got stacked up in one stack and I forgot they were from different libraries. In other news, school is almost out, yay! Only one of my classes has an actual "real" final, yay! The other real class has a normal test but I got a 96% on the last one so I'm not worried. And my art classes all just have dopey final projects, not "real" final projects, so I can pretty much kick back the next couple weeks. The only test I have to study for is my astronomy test cuz it's half our grade, but I've gotten A's on 3 of the 4 regular tests (and a B+ on the 4th one) so it shouldn't be too bad, and it's an essay test, which is my forte, so I am not worried. The only bad part about school being out soon is that I'll have to start working again. Grrr. But I won't have any summer school for the first time in 3 years! No school till I start the university in Fall ... which university, I dunno yet cuz the one of my choice still hasn't sent me an admission letter cuz their stupid system is not up yet or something, but they promised they'd be out in a few weeks. I should just go to my 2nd choice school just to spite them, "Well, you know, I *was* going to go to your school, and you know my *dad* taught there so I have sort of a legacy there, but you *stupid morons* couldn't get your act together and get my admission notice out soon enough, so I decided to go to Tuffy's school instead! So there! No alumni donations for you!" (Tuffy is the other school's elephantine mascot.)

Sunday, April 27, 2003 Today I am feeling: ugh
Books I am reading: Magick, Mayhem and Mavericks - The Spirited History of Physical Chemistry Cathy Cobb Games I am playing (when I have time which is hardly ever): Oracle of Ages [Gameboy Color] Lord of the Rings, Two Towers [Gameboy Advance] Today is the last day of spring break waaaah. I have an astronomy test tomorrow and a research paper due (I am actually prepared for the test and I did actually do the research paper!) I didn't work on my painting homework as much as I should have (I was hoping to be done with it by now) and I didn't do my stupid little star observation project so that means I'll have to do it within the next 3 weeks, but it was cloudy, I swear! Every night! Hehe. I did go to the open house at one of the universities I'm considering for fall though, and I'm glad I did. I learned that the reason I've not received my admission letter is not because I suck but because they suck. They're switching to a new system (why do schools always do that at registration time or application processing time? Why not in the dead of summer? Oh yeah, no people working in summer, stupid me.) So, due to circumstances beyond their control <snicker>, they're "late" with the letters this year, but we should be getting them within the next 4-6 weeks. Great. In two weeks the other university wants to know if I will be attending there. So, do I tell 'em no and hope I get into the "late" school? Or do I accept the 2nd choice school? Oh well, I might get lucky and hear from them in the next 2 weeks, they did say they were going to start sending out letters tomorrow. I did get "good vibes" from the first choice school though, so I kinda really wanna go there, even if I have to accept my alternate major, which I don't really wanna do. I wonder if you can change majors hehe. I got admitted as a senior to the 2nd choice school, because I have so freakin' many units, so they might not let me change, but who knows. I did find out that if you get admitted for fall you can attend the university the summer before too, so now I've got that to consider, I was going to work, but I also want to get done as quickly as possible. I could just take one night class or something maybe, summer sessions are short enough I can handle the long days for a few weeks. On the other hand it would be nice to actually get a semester off from school, I haven't had one in 3 years.
