Picked my cat up from the vet today after her ovariohysterectomy. That's spay for you normal people. Apparently, it's much simpler now than the last time I had a cat spayed, the incision in her belly is only about 1/2" long and she doesn't seem bothered by it at all, of course, she's on DRUGS but still. I'd have thought (hoped) she'd be kinda groggy and not feeling well for a day or two since then I could SLEEP since I've got a cold. But, alas, the pain medication (in the form of a patch, which she has already tried to pull off and I had to re-wrap the bandage already) works very well, kitty is feelin' no pain at all. She's been playing almost constantly since I brought her home, I guess she missed her mouseys and her fishies a LOT given how much she's been tossing them around and chasing them. The vet told me to keep her indoors and "quiet" for 7 days hahahaha yeah right, I'll be lucky if the cat calms down for 7 minutes. Hopefully though she won't pop her stitches, but if she does, it's back to the vet and more pain and confinement. On a related note, the vet assistant told me that my cat had "quite a personality" heheee I guess that means "we are SO glad she's finally going home the little monster drove us nuts." I asked if she meant good or bad personality and she just kinda smiled and said "well, she talks to us a lot" and I told her my cat is very active at home and she said yeah, she was active too. Hehee. She probably tried to escape from her cage all night long.

It's raining again today, I love rain, especially when it keeps coming and coming and coming. Which in California means oh, about 2 inches total. Well, actually I think this storm is more like 3 or 4 inches which is a deluge for us. I love it cuz all the streets get flooded and driving is like riding a ride at Disneyland, you gotta dodge all the morons who think water + oil-coated pavement is the same as normal dry pavement. And you get to splash through flooded intersections and hope your car doesn't stall halfway through, great, wonderful fun. And no, I am not being sarcastic.

I also went to Starbuck's today for the first time in my life, well for the first time to actually buy something, I did go in one once years ago up in northern California back before they were popular and on every streetcorner, but it was with other people and I didn't actually buy anything because I don't like coffee, not if it tastes like coffee anyway. But I do like those Frappucino things they sell in the grocery store (and the ice cream bars too) and they had some little contest dealie awhile back and I won a $20 card which I just got, so since it was cold and rainy I decided to go to Starbuck's and see what they had that was warm and decadent. I got some Toffee Nut Creme thing which was a fancy name for very very sweet hot milk, two and a half bucks please. It was quite tasty though, but didn't contain caffeine so it's not likely I'll get one again, but it sounded interesting and it was free with my card so I figure why not. Next time I think I'll get a frappucino though, since I know I like those, and they put whipped cream on 'em in the store!

Today I am feeling: happy

Books I am reading:

Last week one of my teachers was sick twice and yesterday one of my teachers was sick. I don't mind the first one much cuz that's my art history teacher and so far we haven't done anything in his class except discuss "what is art?" and "what is history?" and stuff. School started almost a month ago and we have yet to actually study art history. But yesterday my astro teacher was sick, which meant no scintillating lecture and no star watching (although it was too cloudy anyway for that). So, I went home and listened to this instead. It wasn't quite the same hehee.

In kitten news, the kitten gets her "parts" out this Friday (ie she gets spayed) I'm sure she's looking forward to that. I know I am because it means I'll have all day Friday with no kitten and most of Saturday too cuz I have a class Saturday morning and can't pick my cat up until the afternoon. Gee, I might actually get something done with her gone!

Today it is raining. My kitten is sad. She was abandoned on a rainy day, I think it pains her thinking about it and how she ended up in the Evil Room of Doom of the Nefarious NONOBADKITTY!'s Lair of Uncontrolled Nip Dances. Or something like that. Actually, I think she's bothered by it because the rain makes stuff move and she must chase things that move, but there's a window in the way and it hurts to jump head-first into the window pane. It also means there is no chance in hell of her going outside to play today.
