Today I am feeling: glad it's not Monday
My kitten had a traumatic day today, first, this morning she went to the vet for the first time! My kitty weighs 2 pounds, 4 ounces! Wow! So big! Hehe. She got humiliated because she had no name (they actually put "no name" on her records, sad, but true, but alas I am a bad kitty mommy and have not yet named my child. <giggle>) She also got probed and poked and stabbed and had to sit on a cold metal table then be whisked away by strangers and poked with needles and tubes and stuff. Poor thing was shaking. And she didn't exactly enjoy the ride home either. But the good news is she was very well behaved *all* day. I think the shots she got made her kinda sicky though cuz she slept most of the day until evening when the kitty bounce gene kicked in or something and she started to return to her normal energetic self. But then a thunder storm started and she was traumatized yet again! Poor kitty! Oh well, I just hope she sleeps tonight.

Today I am feeling: pretty good
I do not like turkey, 'nuff said.
I went to see the newest Harry Potter flick today hoping it wouldn't be crowded at the theater because all the normal people would be at home stuffing themselves with turkey, but apparently the majority of the inhabitants of the city where I live are not normal. The theater was so crowded I had to sit next to a stranger, ick! Hehe. I hate going to movies because I don't like the sardine-feeling and the annoying commentary, but some movies I just have to see in a theater to appreciate the cinematography. HP2 isn't really one of those though. The first one was, sorta. This one wasn't that good, in fact I was quite bored throughout most of it, the only parts I liked were Dobby the House Elf and Moaning Myrtle who was quite delightful (and one of the better acted roles in my opinion.) I liked the 2nd book the best of the 4 that are out now (where IS that 5th book? I've been waiting *ages* for it!) so I was hoping I'd like the movie too, but I didn't think it was as well done as the first, but maybe it was because I was jaded to how they did Hogwart's and stuff, I was quite impressed with it in the first film. It's been so long since I've read the books though that I wasn't sure what if anything they'd changed/left out in the second film. Oh well, it was a nice diversion from math homework which is what I should have been doing today.
In other news, it seems my cat has taken quite a liking to banner ads. Yes, those advertisers may not get my eyeballs but they sure get my cat's eyeballs:

The scary part is that she likes to type on the keyboard after viewing an ad ... so far she's only found the space bar and the F12 key but if she discovers the enter key and a few others I may get some unexpected holiday gifts!
She does like to read Slashdot.org though too so she's not a total loser.

Today I am feeling: tired
There is nothing good about having to be at work at 5am ... well, maybe one thing and that is seeing your fellow employees try to function on not enough sleep which is not unlike seeing them drunk at the holiday party. Oh, and it was nice seeing the stars out when I left for work, but I'd rather see them coming home. I tried to take a nap when I got home, but I had pumped myself so full of caffeine in a dire attempt to keep awake that I couldn't sleep (well because of that and because the cat did not think it was sleepy time so she insisted on attacking my face.) Oh well. The work day is over and I don't have to go back until Monday at *eight* yay! I just hope they don't pull this again for xmas.

Today I am feeling: cranky and tired and a wee pit perturbed
The place I work at wants everyone to be at work at five in the morning tomorrow. Egad. I am lucky if I get to bed by then, let alone get up. Well, ok, since I've been working I've been forced to get to bed at a decent hour like midnight but sheesh, 5am? This is because they all want to get a head-start on the Turkey Day weekend though, which I guess is ok. I mean, I don't have to work again till Monday (when I have a math test eek) so I could theoretically just go in then take a nap when I get home at 2pm and by the time I wake up it'll be 5pm which is when I usually get home anyway. But just the thought of being at work before sunrise scares me, I don't think I've ever even done that before!
In other news, the cat
still does not have a name, poor thing, I've just been calling her Kitty so she will probably think that is her name now and when I take her to the vet and they call her name I will have the humiliation of all the other pet owners thinking I'm a pathetic being who does not deserve the title of pet owner due to my inability to choose a "real" name for my cat. But she hasn't told me what her name is yet, and the only personality trait she has so far is her incessant need to attack any moving object, human or otherwise, as if it's an al-qaeda member being stalked by a Bush. But the name Kitty Commando doesn't really sound pet-friendly, does it? I do occasionally call her Terror though, so maybe that'll stick, who knows. But it doesn't really matter anyway since every cat I've ever had who had a "real" name had at least 10 nicknames anyway, and they usually didn't resemble the real name at all, like my cat Spacecat had the nicknames Cecil and Kiki and Stupid among others. I did used to call my cat Symon by his real name most of the time though because his name fit him so well, he was a simple-minded Himilayan with a nervous tick. Poor cat. Anyway, maybe one day the cat will develop a personality which will clue me in to what she wants to be called. She does quite like it when I make a little "slurpy smacky" sound with my mouth though, but I dunno how to spell that. Ssschloop! Hehe.
