Saturday, March 30, 2002 Well, I am miffed, I found out yesterday that Yahoo! has changed its privacy policy. I am a Yahoo! email user. About a month ago they informed me that beginning in April, there would be changes to the service, namely that if I wanted to continue to use their POP3 version of Yahoo! email I'd have to pay for it. Fine, ok, no more POP3 for me, no problem. Then yesterday I find out (not via email either mind you) that they have reset everyone's "Marketing Preferences" to accept loads of junk from their partners for not only email spam, but get this, *real* mail and *telephone* spam as well! Grrrr. The thing that really irks me about this though is the fact that I'm sure some people actually signed up for the new pay-for-it POP3 service, which meant they actually had to provide real contact information as well as a credit card number to Yahoo! So, now that Yahoo! has their real information, they reset marketing preferences for everyone. Oh well, I'm sure Yahoo! is getting inundated with angry emails, etc from users. If you'd like to add to them, go HERE and let 'em know how happy you are about their new privacy policy changes. If you'd like to actually view the policy before 'commenting', here ya go! Wednesday, March 27, 2002 I found an interesting web site today. It's a way to make books happy! Well, maybe. But it makes me happy, because now I can get rid of all those books I bought at the library booksales over the years.
