Thursday, December 25, 2003 Today I am feeling: scroogey
Books I am reading: Splintered Light: Logos and Language in Tolkien's World Verilyn Flieger Skipping Christmas John Grisham Games I am playing: Asheron's Call 2 Neverwinter Nights Monopoly Tycoon The Beagle has landed ... or has it? It looks like those meanie Martians have annihilated yet another Mars probe from Earth. They're probably tired of us dumping our trash on their planet. Either that or the hostile environment was just too much for the spacecraft to take ... but Mars isn't that bad is it? I can't remember exact data from my Astronomy class but it seems temperatures only ranged from about -300 to +300 degrees, which isn't that bad really, but I guess a lotta heat is generated during entry into the nearly non-existent atmosphere or something. Either that or those Martians have a working "Star Wars" defense system muhahaha. In other new, oh, hey, it's Christmas today, whoopee! I'm sure glad I'm not a Christian or I might have to apologize for the stupidity of this "holiday". I mean, how many people do you know who actually celebrate Christmas (ie "Christ Mass") rather than "Gimme Expensive Stuff or I Won't Like You Anymore"? Personally I think everyone should take the money they would spend on useless overpriced gifts and do something useful with it, like oh I dunno, buy a goat for a needy family or build a house or even just spend some time doing something useful with your life instead of shopping or watching football or playing video games or going to see a lame movie or waxing your SUV. Ok, that oughta make you feel good and guilty for all those silly presents you got this morning. Have a happy holiday, but just remember, the "holi" in holiday used to mean "holy". Now, I'm off to play NWN because, unlike the majority of people in this country, I don't celebrate Christmas.
