James Davis Literature of the Western World Brian Wilkie/James Hurt Games I am playing: Asheron's Call 2: Fallen Kings [online RPG] I had a crappy day today, mostly because I decided to be nice to people, but yannow, people are assholes. I had to go buy gas, and there was a line, so I'm sitting there waiting for the person in front of me to finish with the pump, and as she's leaving, some old couple in a U-Haul, is motioning to me like they needed to get by, so I think, ok I can pull forward a bit to let 'em by, so I do, and they STEAL MY PUMP! Damn them! So, I go try to go over to the pump they were by and some asshole zooms in and steals that one too. Grrr ... so, I just leave the gas station cuz I'm kinda in a hurry to get to school for some stupid lecture thingie. So, I go out to school, and drive around and around trying to find a parking place, and I finally give up and decide to leave, and as I'm driving out, I stop to let a pedestrian cross the street and the guy behind me gets pissed cuz I had the GALL to stop for a pedestrian (it IS the law in California to stop for 'em) and he zooms around me and almost runs the poor girl over. Asshole. Then, I go toward home and I'm thinking I should stop and get some lettuce at the grocery store, but oh wait, there's a strike going on at my usual store, so I decide to be nice and go to another store that the strikers say we should all shop at, so I go over there, and the damn parking lot is completely full (and this is a store that used to have maybe 3 customers max in it at a time.) So, I decide to go to McDonald's instead (they have salads there yannow!) and some old homeless-looking man is outside begging for money, so I decide to be nice (which is rare, usually I just ignore them, but I was on a mission to be nice and actually have someone be nice back) so he asks me if I can spare some change, and I say no, but I'll buy him a burger if he wants one, and he says yes ok. Shock. Huh. Usually they decline so I figure they're just drunks, but ok, I offered, so I go inside and buy him a $1 burger and a $1 bottle of water (yeah, I'm cheap) and give it to him, and he thanks me, then he follows me out to my car and keeps saying "How can I thank you?" and I'm thinking, "How about you STFU and go away?", but I just say "Just say thank you, that'll be enough", but then he keeps bugging me and following me (and trying to get behind me, but I'm not THAT stupid.) Then some old dude comes outta McD's and tells him to leave me alone and he did long enough for me to get in my car but then he comes up to it and I just call him an asshole through my window and leave, I was tempted to run him over, but I don't have time to deal with the messiness of that right now. <evil grin> Anyway, the moral of my story is don't be nice to people cuz they'll screw you over. I think I'll just go back to being my usual mean nasty self and ignore as many people as I can. Or maybe I'll go harass some picketers at the grocery store. In other news, in my typography class our current assignment is to pick a word and make the word look like what it means by manipulating text. One of the words I picked was guillotine because, well, I'm twisted and it was in the dictionary. Plus, it's supposed to be an "action" word and I thought, gee what's more fun and exciting action than a beheading machine? Yeah, ok, I know what you're thinking. But get over it. Anyway, while doing my idea brainstorming I was searching the 'net to find pix of guillotines so I could get an idea of how to make text into a guillotine (not an easy task, I might add.) So, I figured, I'm pretty caught up with homework so I shall make a new smiley, since it's been quite awhile since the last new one ... so, there ya go, a smiley who's out of his head! And it kinda goes with my mood of being quite pissed off at people today, so ... off with their heads!
