Monday, August 04, 2003 Today I am feeling: glad I'm only a trial user 
Books I am reading: Beacham's Sourcebooks for Teaching Young Adult Fiction: Exploring Harry Potter E. Schafer Games I am playing: Asheron's Call [online RPG] Asheron's Call 2: Fallen Kings (free trial) [online RPG] Asheron's Call 2 is gonna do a world merge soon. They already did one where they merged two worlds into one (the KvK servers I think.) So, this will make it look like people actually play AC2 again, sorta. Instead of 100 people average on each of 10 servers there will be 500 people on 4 servers. Hehe. Woot! Actually it'll be more like 1000 people on the two main servers and the rest on either the PvP or the KvK servers. I feel sorry for "Bob", the player who's played on the same server since day one, who loses his name to "Bob" the trial account user who just made his character yesterday but got lucky and had his server "win" the draw of which servers get merged first. Not to mention all the Bobs in allegiances that are probably gonna be fubar very soon now. I'm glad I'm only on a trial account, although I am tempted to make 5 characters per server just so I can take advantage of the entire 40 character slots once the merge happens if I decide to continue my account. My trial runs out a couple days before the merge is supposed to take place though, and seeing as I've not given them a credit card to do the trial, I doubt I'll bother extending it just to see how it goes. But who knows, maybe someday AC2 will be the very best online RPG out there and I will want to re-activate! Hah yeah right.
