Books I am reading: Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix J. K. Rowling Beacham's Sourcebooks for Teaching Young Adult Fiction: Exploring Harry Potter E. Schafer Games I am playing: The Sims Superstar [PC] My cat is an excellent bug-catcher. Tonight there was a junebug buzzing around my head driving me ... buggy ... and I summoned my feline to vanquish the beast and she did in about 10 seconds flat. She really, really likes to chase bugs. It is impossible to get her to come in at night if the bugs have already come out to play. But I am a sucker for cute bug-catcher kitties so I let her stay out now past dark to catch bugs, as long as she comes home when I call her. Sometimes I have to bribe her to get her through the door though. In other news, I despise Governor Gray Davis. I would rather have the Terminator as governor. That is sad, isn't it? But Davis keeps cutting the budget in important stuff like education and health care. What's up with that? Why doesn't he cut stupid stuff? Or why doesn't he just raise state taxes? Or make it so people have to actually pay state taxes, I think right now only about 2% of the state population actually pays state taxes. Sheesh. I remember in the good old days of what's his name ... uhm ... that republican guy ... I had to pay state taxes when I was working a minimum wage job as a teenager. We should go back to those good old days! Either that or pass a fast food tax muhahaha. Fight obesity and raise money at the same time! Muhahah. Yeah, that'd never happen. Oh well, I guess we should just recall him and see who else takes his place ... if they're worse, we can all just move to Mexico, I hear they have great benefits down there.
