Monday, July 28, 2003 Today I am feeling: slashdotted ... again
Books I am reading: Beacham's Sourcebooks for Teaching Young Adult Fiction: Exploring Harry Potter E. Schafer Games I am playing: The Sims Superstar [PC] Asheron's Call [online RPG] Puzzle Pirates [online game] They are haunting me, these slashdot mod points, it happened again today and it's not even been a week! Aaaaaaahhhhhhhhhh! <cries> Oh well, maybe it's just because everyone is on summer vacation. In other news, my naughty minion of a cat didn't wanna come in the house last night, she was too obsessed chasing bugs and besides it was hot in the house, I don't blame her. So I let her stay outside and checked for her "jingle" every once in awhile to make sure she was still around. She came in the house to say "hi" about 10pm and around 11pm I heard her jingle outside my window, so I went outside to try to snag her and bring her in the house but I couldn't find her. So I called her and waited a bit but still no cat, huh odd. Oh well, I'll wait a bit and try again. So I did, but still no cat and now no jingle grrrr. Anyway, kept trying till about 1:30am but didn't wanna wake all the neighbors calling for my cat so I just went to bed and hoped she was smart enough to get a clue that being locked outside all night with no blanky and no food was no fun. But this morning, still no cat. Huh. Maybe she got abducted by aliens or eaten by a dog. So, I wandered around the neighborhood this morning looking for evidence of smushed kitties in the street, or stuck up trees or trapped in yards afraid to come out cuz there's a big doggie there. Nothing. So, I guess all I can do is wait, I've had cats "run away" before only to show up a day or 4 later. But this is her first "missing" incident, she's been really good about coming when I call her. Now, I know some of you will think I am a bad cat mommy for even letting my cat outside, but the poor kitty goes literally nuts if I keep her indoors and literally climbs the walls she wants out so bad, and this has been the case since I got her when she was only about 8 weeks old. She's a "wild cat" and hates to be cooped up. Besides, in the summer the house gets way too hot for her to be inside, the poor thing pants and pants if I make her stay inside during the day. So, in order not to torture my kitty I let her out, so I gradually introduced her to outdoors, first only letting her out when I could watch her, then a little longer, then unsupervised for a bit, etc. And like I said, she's been really good about coming when I call her until now. Hopefully she'll come home, or hopefully someone will find her with her l33+ little pinky cat-face ID tag and call me and tell me she's smushed in the street or whatever.
