Wednesday, March 05, 2003 Today I am feeling: moony 
Books I am reading: The Subtle Knife Philip Pullman Voyages Through the Universe Fraknoi/Morrison/Wolff Games I am playing: SimCity 4 Today in my astronomy class our teacher brought some rocks from the moon for us to look at. He said no one is allowed to legally possess moonrocks without the FBI tracking you down. He told us not to tell anyone. Hehe. Just kidding, he has some kinda certification thingie that allows him to borrow moon rock samples from the JPL or NASA or something. He watched us like a hawk though cuz he said if he "lost" them they'd flog him for hours on end with soggy hoses or something. Anyway, they were little itty bitty rocks that were encased in that clear plastic junk so it wasn't like you could pocket them easily or anything. And they were only about a centimeter big, and there was some moon dust too. It was kinda interesting, the rocks/dust was black, I figured moondust was white cuz the moon looks white when ya look at it. One of the rocks was white but the others were very black and gritty looking, kinda like what iron filings look like only jaggier. He also brought some meteorite samples too, they weren't as impressive except for one of iron that showed striations which was cool. Anyway, it tied in with what we're studying now cuz we're doin' the composition of planets/moon/asteroids. In other news, I went to the pet store yesterday cuz my picky-skinny kitten doesn't like the canned kitten food I'd been giving her, so I thought I'd see if there's some other brand of kitten food she might like, and while browsing the aisles, I noticed one can had her picture on it! Well, it looked like her, could it be her evil twin? Here's what I'm talkin' about, my cat is on the left.  
So, of course, I bought some, and it was odd too cuz only the fish flavor had "her" picture on it, the other flavor didn't, and my cat so far has only like fish flavored food (she likes the "grown-up" version of the brand I'd been giving her, but the fish one was her favorite, but the kitten version was only chicken flavor). Anyway, I figured it was a sign, so I bought some for her. I also bought one of each of every other brand of canned kitten food they had, even the crappy cheapo kind which would probably kill her but which will probably be the one she turns out liking best, because it seems, the smellier/yuckier the ingredients, the more cats like 'em. kitten picture on right © Hill's Pet Nutrition, Inc.
