Friday, August 09, 2002 Today I am feeling: elvish  It seems imood.com is no more, or at least the little mood icons no longer appear so I have removed them from my blog, so now you will not know what my mood is muhahahaha. Well, not unless I tell you in my blog. Kinda sucks though cuz now if I want a little picture with my mood I'm gonna have to make up a bunch more of them. The good news is I could add moods that imood didn't have, and I can just type in any old mood, like ... elvish! Speaking of elves, yannow, I was thinkin' late last night (while watching one of those "special features" on the FOTR DVD) about elves, and how they said the elves symbolize beauty and wisdom and a connection to the earth and I was like damn no wonder I like elves, they're pagans! Hehe and they're magical and immortal too! And they have cute pointy ears and ... <cough> well, anyway, they also said that like the elves' days were coming to an end and they had to move on to the grey something or other and they were all bummed and stuff cuz they had to pass sorta the power of ruling the earth onto men. And I was like cool, that's like that Garden of Eden thing in the Bible where Adam and Eve are talkin' to a snake goddess chick and she's like ooh wanna be smart and they're like oh yeah cool, and so they eat this apple which is sorta representative of knowledge which really means technology. And it's symbolic of man's move from earth-based religions like paganism (which is like the female/nurturing/all life is equal stuff) to western religion like Judaism and Christianity where man is above all and has dominion over the planet and man can destroy the planet cuz like Jesus will restore it all when he comes back and so it's ok and stuff. And how man with his technology can control nature and stuff. And I was like, well, gee, no wonder the elves are bummed! I would be too! So now I like elves even more. And I realize even more the Bible is just like Tolkien, only older. <veg> Well, maybe not just like Tolkien, I think Tolkien writes better fantasy. ;)
