The impossible happened today. Microsoft announced that it will release a service pack for Windows XP that will allow users to *replace integrated portions* of the OS with 3rd party modules. ::faints:: So I guess they were *lying* when they said it was impossible to separate out things like Internet Explorer from the OS during their anti-trust proceedings? Heh. Anyway, we (well not ME since I don't have WindowsXP) will be able to get rid of IE, Outlook Express (yay!), media player (yay!), messenger (yay!) and the corrupted piece of crap MS calls its "Java Virtual Machine" (yipee yahoo!) without totally FUBARing our Windows installation. Supposedly. Heh. Yeah. Well, it's a step in the right direction anyway.
